A Few Tips On Identifying the Limit Holdem Fish Online
These tips should help you find out who the sucker at your table is right out of the gate. Of course, nothing is foolproof, I'm just stereotyping. But when you see these characteristics displayed, the players in question are more likely to spew off their chips in a hailstorm of donkish betting.
People with names all in caps
I can't explain this one, it just seems that many of the biggest fish in the games have names all in caps. Watch out though, because some of the best players also have their names all in caps.
Players sitting with very short stacks (enough to bet one hand through or less)
Good players almost never do this. Even most average players avoid it too. Even they know that it's bad for their image, and may force them to be all in prematurely in a hand. Only the real donks do this consistently in limit holdem.
Players who chat out of the blue
You ever see a player just kindof typing into the chat box for whatever reason. Maybe they want sympathy, maybe they want conversation, maybe they are just bitching other players out. One thing's for sure, they're more likely to be a fish.
New players you've never seen before
If you're a regular in a game you'll no doubt come to recognize all of the good players and many of the average players too. Yet many of the true fish are newbies and you won't recognize them at all. Thus, a simple metric for gauging the likelihood a player is a fish is whether or not you have any history with them.

So true. What is it about people who put their names in all-caps? Of course the random chatters can only be paying attention to their keyboard and not the play around them. I once got beat by a fish who sucked out on the river and right before he left the table he called me a FISH. Wish he had stayed around but he left with a good portion of my stack. WOW. Thanks for the great post
